The White River Health District was formed in 2001 by the taxpayers of South Wasco County to fill the need for medical care in this rural area. The formation of this Special District allowed for the creation of a financing source through special tax assessments. The Health District is a quasi-governmental entity and is a member of the Special Districts Association of Oregon.
